hello world October 27th, 2008
Hello, My name is Nicholas but my friends call me Nicky. I was born roughly 2 weeks ago and my mom somehow thought it would be fun to have this beautiful lady (edited by author) come over to take a few pics of me. I’m no dummy though, I know she wants me to sleep and it’s not gonna happen!
Does she actually think that converting me to black & white will make me sleep. I’ve seen the old movies – not much sleeping going on there. They don’t even show us their bedrooms.
Don’t think that the thumb-sucking is going to make me nod off. I’m just waiting for something better to come along.
Now they’ve fed me and bundled me up, they really think I’ll sleep but I’ve got news for them. Could you sleep with your feet poking out like this??? You would think that after 4 kids my mom would know how to swaddle me!!!!!!!!!! Actually, now that I think about it – it is warm and comfy in here.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
They finally got me to sleep so they wouldn’t dare let my big brother lay on me, or would they?!?!?!?
Now they are taking me outside? What’s wrong with these people??? I’m only 2 weeks old for Goodness Sake.
Little Nicky has to end his tirade here because the “beautiful girl” that came to photograph him finally decided to call it a day so she could go home and take a nap of her own! Nice meeting you Nicky!!!!!!!!
acknowledgment is the first step to recovery October 23rd, 2008
I have to make a confession and it is that I’m a complete clothing snob – children’s clothing that is. It’s so hard not to be with all of the options we parents have today. Our parents had Sears and Sears to choose from (with the occasional trip to Bloomingdales for special occasions where I would cry until I got a new Esprit outfit) so it’s no wonder that they dressed us the way they did. We have no excuse and there are just so many options from Matilda Jane (my current passion) to Mini Boden to Oilily and my list of favorites could go on so……………………………yesterday at Target (yes Target is where 90% of my wardrobe comes from – I can’t afford to dress myself AND my kids in all designer clothes) when I saw this little sweater I thought “wow, Rowan would look really cute in that and it doesn’t look like I bought it at Target” and then I immediately reprimanded myself for being a snob and decided that I would come out and tell everyone that I bought it at Target thereby releasing some of my snobbery and feeling better about myself for not being materialistic. Afterall, it’s all about how I feel, right? haha. Okay, I’m now going to get off my high horse (or chair in this case) and go get the mail because I can smell the Chasing Fireflies catalog decomposing in my mailbox. Enjoy the pic of my little guy and his beloved lolli. It’s not a coincidence that every picture I have of him involves a lolli – little bugger won’t sit still otherwise!

to whomever seeded the hill October 20th, 2008
I just want to issue an apology because I believe that some of your hard work was wiped out by a certain little girl I know doing a butt-slide down the side of the hill but it’s not all bad because the bush is intact and is as green as ever (ok enough of the inside jokes from this session). This was a F-U-N session for me and the smiles radiating from this family were contagious which made my whole day!!!
First up is Jack who has some serious karate moves! Picture Ben Stiller at the end of Meet the Parents. HILARIOUS!
and then sweet Natalie – don’t you just love her crazy hair?!?!?!? She’s going to make a fabulous rock star someday!
and one of the whole family in case you were wondering who created these cuties!

senior October 19th, 2008
I did my first senior session last week and I have to say that it was a nice change of pace from chasing after toddlers. That being said, he didn’t laugh at my knock-knock jokes and bribing him with lollipops in exchange for a smile didn’t really seem to work so maybe the little ones aren’t so bad. I’m just joking – I had a great time with him and he is one heck of a nice kid (God, am I really old enough to call him a “kid”? How did that happen) and I hope he is happy with the results.
