Words you learn at a church preschool December 22nd, 2008
Overheard today:
Riley: Now Rowan, you be the handsome prince and I’m a princess
Rowan: Okay Ri-Ri, I prince
Riley: and………………..we’ll both be virgins
[I go running in the room at this point]
Me: What did you say?
Riley: Rowan and I are pretending we’re virgins
Me: Ummm – that’s good I guess. What does that mean to you????
Riley: It means that we both like ice-cream.
Rowan: I virgin (sounded more like wo-jen)
Me: Okay, have fun kids but don’t share your ice-cream with anyone alright??
on a sidenote, I’m in the process of doing Riley’s 2008 album and came across this picture that I didn’t know I had but it made me laugh. Wonder what the heck I was doing to get them to look like that???

where’s the snow!??!!?! December 18th, 2008
I wanted so badly to do this session with a snowy background but by the time they got home from school, it had all melted and left mud in it’s place. We switched to Plan B and went to one of my favorite spots and I’m so glad we did. I love this session for so many reasons!!! I have been doing a lot of muted tones and b&w lately so this was a fun change! I seriously love it when my clients let me pick out their outfits!!!!!! So…..here are my other beautiful neighbors. I’m sure I’ll be adding more from our session but for now, here is a little tease!!

I SO wish I had a sister!!!!!!!!!!

why I love my UPS man December 16th, 2008
1. he stopped dropping my packages off on Lilac Lane instead of Ivy Lane so the nice woman who was bringing me all of my packages is probably much happier now
2. who doesn’t love seeing big brown pull up to their house??
3. almost all of my xmas orders are finished and nicely sitting in the homes of their proper owners
4. he brings me things which fill client’s needs while also providing hours of entertainment to my 2 and 4 year old who can find a million uses for a ginormous brown box and that is the most valuable gift of all for a busy mom!!!!!!!!!!!
EDITED: I’m cracking up b/c as I am uploading this pic – UPS showed up to deliver two more big packages. I can’t tell if they love me or hate me.

friends & neighbors December 15th, 2008
After much delay, I was finally able to take pictures of some of my favorite people on earth – my neighbors!!!
How beautiful does she look here!?!!? She’s not nearly that cute in real life. Just joking – she’s gorgeous and my daughter adores her and she makes my life easier by playing with my daughter (and she doesn’t even mind me teasing her every chance I get). All of that added together makes me her biggest fan!

I just love mother-daughter photos and I especially love them when the mom looks as beautiful as Michelle does.

and one last one because this cracks me up. I think this looks like it should be their album cover.

LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
exciting stuff December 10th, 2008
My poor neglected blog is in need of some updating so I thought I’d carve 10 minutes out of my day to devote to it. First order of business is that I finally took the plunge and switched to a mac (can I hear some applause?!?!?) and while it has been exciting for me and my desktop has never looked better, it has also been a challenge. While I love the sleekness of it – I miss the computer unit a.k.a. my footrest on my pc and I hate my new mouse but these are all things I can live with. I also have not calibrated my monitor yet so if any of the following images look weird to you then I will blame it on my learning curve – if they look better than usual then OH YEAH – I totally meant to do that.
The other exciting news is that we FINALLY got our tree. I was beginning to worry that it may never happen. Here are some pictures taken this evening after Riley, Rowan, and I decorated it. Be aware that it was completely black out and my ISO was set at 5000 so if the noise bothers you then cover your ears. :) Clever huh? Clearly I’m sleep deprived – I’ve been shacking up in Riley’s room in an attempt to steer clear of whatever communicable disease Kevin picked up earlier this week.

I got off cheap tonight – it only took three smarties to get little man to step in front of the camera for a millisecond after screaming NO twenty times.
